ThriftKos is a web-based marketplace designed to facilitate the buying and selling of second-hand items among university students. The platform provides a secure environment where students can list, discover, and purchase pre-owned products while ensuring that every product listing is reviewed by an administrator before becoming publicly available.
The system supports three user roles: Buyer, Seller, and Administrator. Registered users can act as both buyers and sellers using a single account; however, sellers are not permitted to purchase their own listings. Every product submitted for sale must first be verified and approved by an administrator before it can be viewed and purchased by other users.
My contribution to this project focused on maintaining and enhancing the existing system, including fixing application bugs, refactoring functionality, redesigning approximately 90% of the user interface, extending Buyer and Seller features, developing the Administrator module for data management, and implementing a real-time messaging feature to enable communication between buyers and sellers.
